Congratulations Mark Stiles - 2010 Champion

Congratulations to Mark Stiles for becoming the first ever multiple BRCA Micro National Series Champion by retaining his title from the 2009 season and joining previous champions John Timberlake (2WD,2009), Craig Harris (Pro-Stock,2008) and Cris Oxley (Modified,2008).
Gecko tyres again dominate in the FOURTH ROUND of the BRCA UK Micro National series at TAMWORTH on 3rd JANUARY with another 1, 2, 3 & 4 (5th January 2010)
Electric Gecko tyres again dominated the latest (fourth) round of the BRCA UK Micro National series. In the major class (4WD) Keith Robertson won, Craig Harris came second (and TQ), Mark Stiles was third and Steve Davies was fourth. All four were on Electric Gecko foam rubber tyres (low profile i.e. 58mm diameter).
You can purchase these low profile 'Micro' tyres directly from Microtech Racing online - see their web page:

Ivan Bugane of Bolonga (Italy) TQ'd and won the 3rd round of the AMSCI Italian Championship last month at the Fontanellatos asphalt Track and now leads the championship final standings in this 1/10th Electric (Lipo 2s or 6 cells - 10.5T motor - free 26mm foam tyres) class. This was Ivan's 3rd TQ in 3 rounds but his first well deserved win where he has been delighted with the Electric Gecko tyre performance using the 40 Shore (front and rear) standard product to leave the rest of the field trailing behind. Ivan was using product code AR10FE040 front and rear.
Electric Gecko tyres (low profile) were again the dominant choice at the Hereford Micro Open on 16th August, Please see the following summary of events from BRCA Micro RC class Chairman, Cris Oxley
"Gecko secured all 3 places on the 4WD rostrum at the Hereford Micro Open on August 16th with Microtech Racing's Keith Robertson taking the top spot from Gecko team driver Steve Davis in 2nd place with Chris Bottle close behind in 3rd.
After 4 rounds of qualifying it was clear that foam tyres were to way to go on a track that offered nearly a lap more for those who chose foam over rubber.
With half of the 4WD A-final using Gecko foams, and all three rostrum positions taken by Gecko its clear that, with the upcoming BRCA Micro National Series starting on October 4th, Gecko is going to be a force to be reckoned with over the Winter."
Words - Cris Oxley

Ivan Bugane of Bologna (Italy) top qualified in the 1/10th Electric Sports class (10.5 T, Lipo adn) of the AMSCI Italian Championship on Gecko tyres held in Catania, Sicily last month. Ivan also led the 'A' final to the last lap where a small mistake meant finishing in second place on the podium. Ivan was using Electric Gecko tyres 37 hardness all round (Product code: AR10FE037) which gave superb results throughout the day.
Ivan also Top qualified in round 2 of the AMSCI championship held in Bologna on 31st May and was going well until a rain downpour meant he dropped to fifth - Ivan did not have any rain tyres with him!. Ivan will now have the new 1/10th Gecko Aqua foam rubber tyres ready for the next round at the Fontanellato's track (Parma) on 3rd/4th July just in case.

Dale Hulbert won the speed run at the annual Calshot Velodrome event held Sunday 26th April held by South Hants Model Car Club. He achieved one lap in 5.363 seconds which equates to an average speed of 59.61 mph. He did this using a 'modified' 1/10th Electric Sedan with 42 hardness Electric Gecko foam rubber tyres giving amazing grip via the 100% contact patch. The Velodrome oval racing surface is a wood track coated with a 'grit' encassed in a hard resin which can be highly abrasive if you allow your tyres to slide, however, the unbelieveable grip that the Gecko tyres offers you ensures minimal slide and so minimal wear to go with the excellent grip.
Dale also found the time to finish 3rd in the Stock (13.5/27 Turn) A final (also on Gecko tyres) in this excellent annual Oval racing event. (Photo courtesy of South Hants Model Car Club).

Gecko Tyres had a great start to 2009 winning both Stock and Sport categories at a major 1/10th Electric TC race event in Florence on Sunday
1/10th Electric Gecko tyres helped Matteo Berlincioni win the Stock (13.5 motor) category at a major 1/10th Electric TC (Sedan) racing event on carpet in Florence, Italy on the 4th January. The Electric Gecko tyres were even more outstanding in the Sport (10.5 motor) category where Fabrizio Batisti won with Massimo Fabiani (2nd), Andrea Simari (3rd) and Alesslo Menicucci (4th and TQ) all using Electric Gecko tyres. Around 80 of the best Electric TC racers in Italy attended the event with premium US and Italian based foam tyre competition all in evidence but struggling to keep up with the standard Electric Gecko tyre product. For more information on Gecko tyres in Italy please see www.speedrc.it or email info@speedrc.it

Above left is the Blaze ST with Electric Gecko tyres which Steve Davis used to TQ at round 3 of the BRCA Micro National at Wycombe on November 2nd. Steve also won the 'A' final second leg. Gecko tyres also seemed one of the preferred tyre choices for many of the top racers at the event. Above right is the FTX Blaze showing 63mm diameter Electric Gecko tyres which helped Dan Osborne make the Podium in the B final of the same event.

Above - At the City of Florence Touring Car Indoor carpet race on 8th/9th November in Italy, a major event, Alessio Menicucci took the pole and Mauro Fabiani finished 3rd in the 1/10th Sedan 10.5 sport class using Electric Gecko tyres for the first time. See also their cars in more detail clad with the Gecko Electric tyres that helped produce the top results. Both drivers will soon be racing the Electric Gecko tyres again at the UISP Italian Championship at Scandiano on the 30th November.

Above - Wes Lyon wins the 'C' final in the 13.5 Foam Sedan class at the Las Vegas Indoor International Championships (August 2008). Also above - the IIC rostrum and track on which Wes won the final.

Above - Dave Bertetto used Electric Gecko tyres (trued to 57mm diameter) at the 9th November Sedan race event at his local Illinois (USA) track and found they were a clear 0.2 seconds quicker per lap (on a 10 second lap) than his standard major brand tyres. Dave went onto to TQ and win the A main. We believe there will be many racers around the US who will soon have similar experiences to Dave when they try the Electric Gecko tyres for the first time.
Some UK track results for the Electric Gecko in 2008
In October 2007 the Electric Gecko® was launched into the market and since then has enjoyed significant success on the track:
· Cris Oxley - was crowned the first UK BRCA Micro National champion (modified) in January with two rounds to spare using Electric Gecko®
· Electric Gecko® tyres were on 9 of the 10 Pro-stock ‘A’ finalist cars at the Welsh Micro open at Cardiff in March (probably the biggest event of its kind ever held in the UK) with the 1 (Craig Harris), 2 (Steve Davis), 3 (Chris Bottle), 4 (Cris Oxley) & 5(Dan Osborne) all on Gecko® tyres
· Dale Hulbert won the WWMCC 1/10th Electric touring car (seniors) championship on Electric Gecko® (aged just 13) often putting 3 to 4 laps on the non Gecko® clad competition –and with low even wear and no chunking.

Above Dale Hulbert was a clear winner in 27t (main) class at the annual Calshot Velodrome event held by South Hants Model car club (oval racing) in March. Dale put 2 laps on the competition in the A-Final. The hard Electric Gecko tyres proved a big hit where only rubber tyres were thought to work previously on the abrasive track surface.
