A number of electric RC racers (both 1/12th, 1/10th & 1/18th ) around the world have been asking the question should additive be used on foam rubber (or solid rubber) tyres these days? They again have raised the environmental concerns of using hydrocarbon based solvents to improve the grip of the tyres. They have also raised the problems of personal mess, damage to carpets and the fact the grip levels are difficult to control as the additive evaporates at varying levels.
There is no doubting the advantages of the improved grip the additive offers as it swells and softens the rubber .
Our answer is why not use Electric Gecko tyres and no additive. Electric Gecko tyres have a much higher base level grip than any other RC foam rubber or solid rubber tyre (known to us) and tyre additive is often simply no longer required.
Therefore, Electric Gecko tyres has even more to offer to those clubs around the world who are uncomfortable using tyre additive but still want to enjoy high levels of grip with their RC carpet racing
